Short answer: protein breaks down into amino acids, and some of those amino acids are the raw material your body uses to make neurotransmitters — the everyday signalling chemicals involved in attention and mood. That is basic biology, not a promise about performance.
What we are not saying
We are not claiming that a bar treats ADHD, depression, anxiety, or any medical condition, and we are not claiming "clinically proven focus". If you are dealing with a health concern, that is a conversation for a healthcare professional.
The 3pm pattern
Skipping lunch and then reaching for a sweet-only snack tends to produce a quick lift and a quick fade. A snack that includes protein is usually more filling, so you are less likely to graze your way through the last hours of the working day. The benefit is mostly behavioural: fewer swings, fewer decisions made while hungry.
Food-first ideas
Maas or yoghurt, boiled eggs, leftover chicken, peanuts, tinned pilchards on toast, beans in a salad. When ambient convenience wins — a laptop bag, a long commute, a day out of the office — a bar is a sensible stand-in.
The coffee note
Protein does not replace sleep, and it does not replace your flat white. They can simply coexist.
Where GetProtein fits: Plain is a granola-style bar with about 11g protein in roughly 40g — food you can keep in a bag, not a powder in disguise. See the Plain bar.
